Learn the Ropes and Ask Tough Questions

Tilikum QUEST Camps are specifically geared to the needs of middle school students. High energy yet thoughtful group building activities are led by specially trained college aged staff and develop social skills, friendships, and character qualities in an atmosphere of fun. In the supportive environment of their small group, campers can choose to face personal obstacles on our Challenge Course, swim and canoe in Lake Tilikum and learn about God’s deep love for them. After a day of fresh forest air & hard play, your middle school-age student will return to the comforts of home to sleep in their own bed and be ready for the next adventure filled day.

QUEST Camp activities can include:

  • making new friends
  • developing confidence on the ropes course
  • learning to work as a team
  • nature hikes
  • swimming and canoeing
  • archery
  • Scripture and worship
  • Trail Talk curriculum [LEARN MORE]

Summer Camp During COVID: What has changed?

In light of COVID we have needed to make several adjustments to our programs. Here is what to expect:

1. Stable Groups: We have reduced our summer camp capacity in accordance with state guidelines for childcare and day camps requiring that children stay in stable groups of no more than 10, with two counselors. “Stable” means that these groups do not mix at all throughout the week.

2. Social Distancing and Mask Wearing: Campers are required to bring a mask to wear during drop-off and pick-up, as well as any time they are in an enclosed space or are unable to socially distance from other campers. We have several creative ways to travel around camp and play together while maintaining a safe distance. We also know this will not go perfectly as planned, but we will do our best! The key will be emphasizing teamwork to all the kiddos who are joining us this summer as we work to keep each other safe and have fun together.

3. Hand Washing and Sanitizing: There will be hand washing stations placed all over camp, and staff will have sanitizer packs with them at all times for use outside of meal and bathroom times. All program areas will be sanitized before and after each use.

4. Updated Activities: You have likely read about some of our adjustments this summer. We have eliminated all activities that break social distancing protocol and replaced them with other activities. The program that has been most affected by these changes is QUEST. Our team has worked hard to find innovative solutions that enable us to keep some of our challenge course and high ropes activities intact. However, some of those activities will still remain closed. To supplement our challenge course curriculum we have added a Survival School curriculum which includes knot-tying, building a shelter, a map-and-compass scavenger challenge, fire-building, extreme canoe relay, and “slingshot alley.”
