Father and Daughter Weekend

Friday, August 2 – Sunday, August 4, 2019

Fathers and Daughters (entering 1st grade and up) come out for a fun-filled, weekend at Tilikum. Highlights include, great Bible teaching, team-building activities, fishing, hot-tubbing, campfires, and a lot more! Best of all, daughters will have a whole weekend of undivided attention from dad, building memories that will last a lifetime! Weekend price includes lodging for two nights, five meals and all program activities.

rich-millerSpeaker – Rich Miller

Rich Miller lives in Sherwood, Oregon with his wife Nadine. They have been married for 33 years and have three adult children. Bethany (& Dan) Headley live in Fort Mill, South Carolina with their two children (Elliotte & Olin). Kenton (& Bekah) live down the street from them in Sherwood. And their youngest, Gerik, lives with them.

 While his children and grandchildren are his greatest passion (and accomplishment), Rich and Nadine have enjoyed having Labrador and Golden retrievers as family pets through the years. Currently they have a 20-month-old goldie named Harley (Nadine got Harley the dog in 2017, the same year that Rich got a Harley motorcycle). While Rich enjoys riding his Harley, both Nadine and he also enjoy walking Harley. They also enjoy camping, hiking and skiing.   

 Rich is the pastor at Sherwood Community Friends Church and has been there since 2012. He has pastored at three other NWYM Friends churches in his career (South Salem Friends, Olympic View Friends, and Four Summits Community Church) and has always had a passion and concern for encouraging and helping parents parent. 

nathan-hildenbrantWorship Leader – Nathan Hildebrant

Nathan Hildebrant is the worship leader for our Father/Daughter Weekend.  A native Oregonian, Nathan was born and raised in Salem.  He and his family attend West Chehalem Friends Church where Nathan serves as one of the regular worship leaders.  He is an anesthesiologist at Tuality Hospital in Hillsboro.  Nathan received his medical training at Loma Linda University in Southern California.  He and his family enjoy hiking, music, and singing.  They have two Labradoodles, Max and Charlie.  Nathan is joined by his three daughters, Clara, Camille, and Caroline.

  7:30PM – Session 1 – Welcome Orientation
  8:30PM – Free time and snacks, shoreline fishing

  6:45AM – 7:45AM – Fishing and canoes
  8:00AM – Breakfast
  8:45PM – Family photos, Tilikum presentation, Session 2
10:15AM – Crafts, Climbing Wall, guided fishing available
12:30PM – Lunch
  1:00PM – Free Time Activities may include Big Swing, Little Zipline, Big Zipline, rafting, canoeing and swimming
  6:00PM – Dinner
  7:00PM – Session 3
  8:00PM – Campfire with S’mores

Stay at Tilikum Lodge in a comfortable country, retreat center setting. You and your child(ren) will have your own guest sleeping room with three single beds and a private bathroom.

Medical diets

Food Service can accommodate your medical diet request if you let them know two weeks in advance of your scheduled event at Tilikum. There is an additional charge of $1 per meal per person due to the increased cost of food. You can make arrangements to pay when you arrive and check in.

Father and Daughter Weekend cost

Realizing that families have different abilities to pay, Tilikum has instituted a three-tier fee program. Tiered pricing is intended to help families recognize the full cost of the weekends and then select the level that is most suitable for their family circumstances. By choosing to pay the full cost of the program,Tilikum is able to offer financial assistance to families that need it. Please select the appropriate tier at the time of registration.
