Father and Daughter Families Day
Saturday, July 31, 2021
Family Days at Tilikum are a great opportunity for parents and their children to take a break from regular schedules and experience life side by side. Activities include meals together, speaker and worship sessions, waterfront activities (canoeing, swimming and fishing), nature hikes, Challenge Course activities, and crafts.
Tilikum offers Family Days instead of Family Weekends this year to provide families an ideal opportunity to continue to experience relational and spiritual renewal while complying with State and Federal guidelines due to COVID-19.There will be no Zoom meetings this year, only a full Camp-like day in Tilikum’s pastoral setting with group and individual activities and the presence of God. Cost of Family Day has been dramatically reduced for this abbreviated program to allow most families to participate. We expect a return to regular Family Weekend programs in 2022. Children attending these camps should at least be entering 1st grade.
Clay Swanson will be our speaker for Father and Daughter Camp this year. Clay is the Principal at C.S. Lewis Academy in Newberg, Oregon. He is an Air Force veteran serving for over 12 years before being called into Christian Education. He taught PE at Valley Christian School in Auburn, WA and then became the Vice Principal at West Hills Christian School in Portland, OR before moving into his role at C.S. Lewis.
He has a passion for ministry to children and especially for Dads to connect with their daughters. He has co-led The Abba Project with Dr. Michelle Watson for the past 10 years. The Abba Project is a ministry of Changing Girls’ Lives One Dad at a Time!! http://www.drmichellewatson.com/theabbaproject
Clay is the husband of Shari Swanson, the Women’s Ministry Director at Beaverton Christian Church. He is the dad of three daughters, Julia, Shelby and Samantha and grandpa to Alice, Beatrice and Grace. He does have a son, Ben, and two grandsons Haiyden and Stephen.
Over these 4 Sessions I will share with you some practical tools to help you connect with your daughter. I will be using excerpts from Michelle’s book Dad, Here’s What I Really Need from You and YES there will be “Homework”, (hey, I’ve been in education for over 25 years, what do you expect).

Father and Daughter Day cost
Realizing that families have different abilities to pay, Tilikum has instituted a three-tier fee program. Tiered pricing is intended to help families recognize the full cost of the weekends and then select the level that is most suitable for their family circumstances. By choosing to pay the full cost of the program,Tilikum is able to offer financial assistance to families that need it. Please select the appropriate tier at the time of registration.
Scholarships are available for those who qualify. [LEARN MORE]
