Tilikum Day Camps

Summer Day Camp programs for kids entering 1st – 6th grades.

While COVID is currently putting a damper on some activities, Tilikum is anticipating and planning for an exciting Summer Camp season!

Registration for Day Camp, QUEST Adventure Camp, Family Camp, and Family Weekends opens January 15. Experience creation, make friends, learn new things, connect with God

Your child will spend more than 35 hours in God’s great outdoors under the careful guidance of specially trained college-age counseling staff. Together they will explore Tilikum’s 93 acres, making new friends, participating in waterfront activities, nature studies, and barn animals, learning Christ-centered truths and having a whole lot of fun. Silly songs, games, and new shared experiences draw kids together. A week at Camp Tilikum removes your child from the ever present draw of technical devices. Face-to-face encounters with staff and new friends give your child ample opportunities to develop good social skills. Outdoor activities such as hiking, boating, and archery build life-skills they can reference as they develop. Daily “Trail Talk” presents biblical truths in story format. Kids are encouraged to ponder the stories to hear what God is saying to them personally. Day Camp staff look for ways to build community within each camper group.

Day Camp activities can include

  • nature hikes
  • songs and skits
  • swimming, rafting, and canoeing
  • Tree House or Small Zip line
  • forest navigation
  • barn animals & theater
  • archery or parachute games
  • Trail Talk curriculum [LEARN MORE]

Summer Camp During COVID: What has changed?

In light of COVID we have had to make adjustments to the summer program. Here is what you can expect:

1. Stable Groups: We have reduced our summer camp capacity in accordance with state guidelines for childcare and day camps requiring that children stay in stable groups of no more than 10, with two counselors. “Stable” means that these groups do not mix at all throughout the week.

2. Social Distancing and Mask Wearing: Campers are required to bring a mask to wear during drop-off and pick-up, as well as any time they are in an enclosed space or are unable to socially distance from other campers. We are sure you are wondering how we will accomplish social distancing with young children. We have several creative ways to travel around camp and play together while maintaining a safe distance. We also know this will not go perfectly as planned, but we will do our best! The key will be emphasizing teamwork to all the kiddos who are joining us this summer as we work to keep each other safe and have fun together.

3. Hand Washing and Sanitizing: There will be hand washing stations placed all over camp, and staff will have sanitizer packs with them at all times for use outside of meal and bathroom times. All program areas will be sanitized before and after each use.

4. Updated Activities: We have eliminated all activities that break social distancing protocol and replaced them with other activities.
