Tilikum Day Camps

Summer Day Camp programs for kids entering 1st – 6th grades.

Urgent message regarding changes to Tilikum’s 2022 Summer Camp program.

Due to delays in the timeline to complete repairs on the lake as well as an exceptionally challenging Summer Staff hiring season, we have made the extremely difficult decision to cancel Tilikum’s Day Camp program this year. Instead, we will be running an expanded QUEST Day Camp program for students entering grades 5 – 8.

What this means.

If you have a camper going into 5th or 6th grade who is registered for Day Camp and would like to move up to Quest, you may do so at no extra cost. Email Debbie Ford/Camp Registrar to make this change to your registration or, if you are registered through a church group, contact your group coordinator.

If you have a camper going into 1st – 4th grade who is currently registered for Day Camp, or a 5th – 6th grader currently registered for Day Camp who does not want to move up to Quest Camp, you may receive a full refund. Email Debbie Ford/Camp Registrar and she will begin processing your refund over the next few weeks. We will work to get your registration fees back to you as quickly as possible and greatly appreciate your patience as we work through these requests one at a time.

If you would like to help Camp Tilikum, you have the option of converting some or all of your camp fees into a donation toward the cost of making repairs to Tilikum Lake so that future summers will see it full and teeming with happy campers. We currently estimate costs for the project to be around $75,000.

This is without a doubt the most difficult decision we have had to make in Camp Tilikum’s 50-year history. We are heartbroken to have to give this news to so many families who we know were relying on a week of fun and respite for their kids.

Tilikum staff are deeply grateful for your prayer and support.

Experience creation, make friends, learn new things, connect with God

Your child will spend more than 35 hours in God’s great outdoors under the careful guidance of specially trained college-age counseling staff. Together they will explore Tilikum’s 93 acres, making new friends, participating in waterfront activities, nature studies, and barn animals, learning Christ-centered truths and having a whole lot of fun. Silly songs, games, and new shared experiences draw kids together. A week at Camp Tilikum removes your child from the ever present draw of technical devices. Face-to-face encounters with staff and new friends give your child ample opportunities to develop good social skills. Outdoor activities such as hiking, boating, and archery build life-skills they can reference as they develop. Daily “Trail Talk” presents biblical truths in story format. Kids are encouraged to ponder the stories to hear what God is saying to them personally. Day Camp staff look for ways to build community within each camper group.

Day Camp activities can include

  • nature hikes
  • songs and skits
  • swimming, rafting, and canoeing
  • Tree House or Small Zip line
  • forest navigation
  • barn animals & theater
  • archery or parachute games
  • trail talk: conversations about creation
