Mother and Son Weekend

Friday, July 19 – Sunday, July 21, 2019

Mothers and sons (entering 1st grade and up) come out for a fun-filled day at Tilikum. Highlights include, worship, team-building activities, fishing, and a lot more! Best of all, sons will have a whole day of undivided attention from mom, building memories that will last a lifetime. Tilikum emphasizes times of spiritual and relational renewal, exploring creation, building community, encountering God and transforming lives. Whether fishing with your son on the lake, exploring the grounds during a nature hike, or racing up the climbing wall together, the setting, the people, and the presence of God create an ideal opportunity to experience life side by side.

Program

paul-nancy-almquistSpeaker – Nancy Almquist

Raising three sons has been one of the greatest adventures of my life. My husband Paul and I made it a priority to get our boys out into the beauty of nature when they were young. We camped, fished, hiked and took time to enjoy what God has created. They are all grown up now, two of them are married, but all of them still appreciate time spent in the great outdoors. I have the privilege of working with many wonderful women in my Mary Kay business, teaching children at our church and taking walks and sharing stories with good friends. I challenge myself to focus on joy even in the midst of hardship and God shows me regularly another thing I can put in my “Joy Jar.” We will have a great time at our weekend together in July!

Special diets

We can accommodate options for those with medical dietary needs when given prior notification. Tilikum charges an additional $1 per meal per person for “medical diet” requests. Tilikum prepares family-style meals rather than ‘individual short orders’ based on “food preferences”. We will make you an individual meal with the specifications listed below to the best of our abilities.  We are not a dedicated facility and will process all types of foods in the same kitchen. Please click the following link for the Tilikum Medical Diet Form. This form should be completed by the individual themselves and needs to be returned by email two-weeks prior to your Family Weekend to Debbie Ford/Camp Registrar.
