Tilikum Day Camps
Summer Day Camp programs for kids entering 1st – 6th grades.
Day Camp 2020 is on!
On May 7 the State of Oregon announced the opening of summer camps with social distancing and other safety restrictions in place. Camper groups will consist of 10 or less with 2 Summer Staff, no volunteer counselors, implementing social distancing guidelines, limited to 70 campers on the grounds, and the same campers in each group all week. Day Camp activities will still include swimming, canoeing, archery, nature hikes, camp songs, bouldering and crafts.
“Even with these limitations, children and youth will be able to be outside in God’s creation, making friends and learning about Jesus…way more fun than sitting at home!,” says Rommie Christiansen, Summer Camp Program Director
Experience creation, make friends, learn new things, connect with God
Your child will spend more than 35 hours in God’s great outdoors under the careful guidance of specially trained college-age counseling staff. Together they will explore Tilikum’s 93 acres, making new friends, participating in waterfront activities, nature studies, and barn animals, learning Christ-centered truths and having a whole lot of fun. Silly songs, games, and new shared experiences draw kids together. A week at Camp Tilikum removes your child from the ever present draw of technical devices. Face-to-face encounters with staff and new friends give your child ample opportunities to develop good social skills. Outdoor activities such as hiking, boating, and archery build life-skills they can reference as they develop. Daily “Trail Talk” presents biblical truths in story format. Kids are encouraged to ponder the stories to hear what God is saying to them personally. Day Camp staff look for ways to build community within each camper group.
