Camp Tilikum is looking for a Challenge Course Manager and Maintenance Assistant.
In brief…
This is a year-round part time position that averages about 24 hours a week. Approximately 16 hours a week with the Challenge Course and 8 hours a week in maintenance. This person reports to the Executive Director and Maintenance Director depending on the task. Administrative Challenge Course is an hourly wage of $15, Facilitator is $25 and Maintenance is $15.
The work is physical, with lots of walking, standing, climbing steps, and carrying.
Position description
Coordinate challenge course groups:
- Marketing to and recruiting challenge course groups
- Scheduling of the group & facilitators—often around other groups on the grounds
- Collect/file the appropriate paperwork for each group
- Create (or help another facilitator create) a program specific to the group goals
- Follow up with group leaders for payment, evaluations and rebooking
- Keep facilitators up to date on their ACCT certifications, create ongoing training opportunities
- Hire new facilitators when needed
Recreation Coordination:
- Manage the physical structures and equipment for the Big Swing and Little Zip.
- Collaborate with the Guest Services Director and Family Weekends Coordinator to plan appropriate recreation options for guests.
- Schedule staffing for recreation shifts—will require coordination with the Program Director
Tilikum Adventure Program Staff:
- Check in with Adventure Program Onsite Director regarding scheduling and expectations around the use of the challenge course space and equipment
- Hold TAP Onsite accountable to challenge course policies and turning in Pre-Use Inspection Forms
Stewardship of the physical Challenge Course Space:
- Create & update a master plan of the challenge course (new elements to build, new group areas, etc.)
- Daily, Quarterly, Yearly inspections coordinated and conducted
- Maintain equipment and grounds of the challenge course (clearing trails, poison oak, etc)
Maintenance Assistant:
- Help the Maintenance Director with maintenance tasks depending on expertise.
- Mowing lawns, tractor work, painting, leaves, etc.
- Various other duties
Administrative Team:
- Attend and participate in weekly Staff Meetings
- Attend and help with major events like Friends of Tilikum Day, Potlatch, and Trail Run
- Attend and participate in yearly Administrative Team retreat
- Attend Christian Camp and Conference Association regional
